Hi Everyone. Welcome to the new CIU NS Local 80002 website. This is a great chance for all of the members of CIU in Nova Scotia to better communicate with one another. When asking members about what they would like to see from their local union, everyone said the same thing… more communication. It has always been a challenge in the past to get the word out to our union Brothers and Sisters to keep them up to date with current events, and to keep everyone informed on local issues. As well, we identified that we needed a readily available tool to help find resources, forms, or to just get in contact with their local shop steward.
Well, as of right now, all of those things are readily available at your fingertips. With the help of our website developer, we addressed what we felt the members would want from us in one, easy to use website. Everything from who we are, to local events, campaigns, forms, publications, and much more.
As well, we have introduced a secure forum for us to use to communicate with each other. This is a great way to let us now what you think on numerous issues.
POSSIBLE FUNCTIONALITY ISSUES - We have tried our best to make sure the webiste info is accurate, and that all pages, links, and forums run smoothly. But, from time to time, you may find errors or issues with the website. If this happens, please let us know immediately so we can correct it as soon as possible. So we encourage you to look at everything!!
I would like to thank Ricky Ferris from Headspace Design for developing this site with minimal cost to our local. If it wasn’t for him, this site wouldn’t be possible.
